Booking and assessment fee

What you pay for at the start.

What do I get for the £35 assessment?

Your £35 assessment includes standard UK tracked postage both ways, a careful device check and a written report. We explain what we find, the available options, any relevant risks and the quoted cost. The assessment is non-refundable and counts towards approved repair or recovery work.

What if I book data recovery instead of repair?

We focus on whether we may be able to recover your files. The assessment checks the device, possible methods and risks. You receive our findings and a quote before deciding on a recovery attempt.

Does the assessment fee count towards the repair?

Yes. If you approve the repair quote, the £35 assessment fee counts towards the total. You pay the remaining balance to approve the work.

What happens if I decline the repair?

We’ll return your device, and there’s no repair balance to pay. The £35 assessment fee is non-refundable because it covers the checks, report and standard UK tracked postage both ways.

Will you repair my device without asking me first?

No. We’ll explain what we find and send you a quote first. You can approve, decline or use the email link to give yourself more time to decide.

Shipping and tracking

Sending your device and following its progress.

Is shipping included?

Yes. The £35 assessment includes standard UK tracked postage to us and back. After payment, we’ll email your booking confirmation, postage label and packing instructions.

How do I send my device?

After you book, we’ll email your Royal Mail label and packing instructions. Wrap the device in bubble wrap, put it in a rigid box with padding on all sides, and attach the printed label. Your booking reference should be clear on the box. Our packing guide walks you through it.

Can I track my repair?

Yes. Use your booking reference and email address to see your current stage, important dates, parcel progress, available reports and warranty details.

Can I follow my data recovery too?

Yes. You can follow the assessment, your quote decision, recovery work and the return of your device on the tracking page.

Why do I need my email address as well as my booking reference?

Using both details helps us match you to the right booking and protects your repair information. Use the same email address you entered when booking.

Reports and risk

What the reports explain.

What is included in the diagnostic report?

Your report explains what we found and what we recommend. Where relevant, it includes the device’s condition, the fault, proposed work, estimated time, quote, risks, whether secure passcode access is needed, and photos that help explain the findings.

What is included in the repair report?

Your repair report explains the fault, the work and parts used, the outcome and our test results. It also includes any warranty cover and how to make a claim if you need to.

What do No Risk, Low Risk and High Risk mean?

No Risk means the fault is clear and the repair path is straightforward. Low Risk means the diagnosis is clear, but the work sits in a sensitive area of the device. High Risk means the repair involves a critical area of the motherboard and there is a real chance the device may not respond as expected.

Will I be told if a repair is high risk?

Yes. We explain high-risk work in your assessment report so you can understand the possible outcomes before deciding whether to approve it.

Repair quotes and approval

Your quote and your choices.

How long do I have to approve a quote?

The standard quote window is 7 days. Your email gives you links to approve, decline or extend the quote. Extending can move the decision window up to 28 days.

How long does diagnosis or assessment take?

Usually 2–3 working days from arrival at the lab. Complex faults, liquid damage or a busy period can take longer. We’ll update your repair record if the estimate changes.

What happens if I do not respond?

If the quote deadline passes without a response, we close the repair request and arrange to return your device. Use the links in your quote email if you need more time to decide.

How much will the repair cost?

The price depends on your device and what has failed. We’ll explain the cost after assessment and send a quote. You decide whether to approve it before any repair payment is due.

What if the repair does not succeed after approval?

We’ll explain what happened and the options available. Where possible, we may offer a data recovery attempt at no extra charge, with no repair refund if you choose it. If the repair cannot be completed and you don’t take that option, your repair payment is refunded in full and your device is returned. The £35 assessment fee remains non-refundable.

Board-level repair

When the fault is deeper than a part swap.

What is board-level or motherboard repair?

The motherboard, also called the logic board, is the main circuit board inside your device. Repairing it can involve tiny components that control power, charging, the screen or access to files. We check whether the board is causing the problem before recommending this work.

Do you do microsoldering and chip-level work?

Yes, where it’s appropriate for the fault. This means using a microscope and specialist tools to repair tiny components and connections on the board. We’ll explain the proposed work in your report before you decide.

Do you guarantee every board-level repair will work?

We can’t promise a repair will work before we’ve checked the device. We’ll explain what may be possible and any risks before you decide.

Data privacy and passcodes

Your passcode and your privacy.

Will you ask for my passcode?

Only if we need it for testing, confirmation or recovery. We don’t ask for it when you book. If access is needed later, we’ll send a secure link; please don’t include a passcode in ordinary email or booking notes.

How are passcodes or secrets collected?

We’ll send a secure access link if we need them. Please don’t send passcodes or other access details through ordinary email, chat or notes in the parcel.

Is my data encrypted?

Sensitive customer data and access information are handled with encryption in transit and at rest within the workflow. Data is accessed only where needed for repair testing or recovery.

Can you repair without my passcode?

Often, yes, especially while checking hardware. Some final tests or data recovery steps may be limited without access. We’ll explain if that affects your device.

Data recovery

When the data matters more than the device.

Do you offer data recovery?

Yes. We assess supported smartphones and tablets that are damaged, won’t turn on or won’t stay running long enough to reach the files. Choose Data recovery when booking if the files matter more than using the device again.

Is data recovery a device repair service?

The aim is to recover the agreed files. That may not leave your device suitable for everyday use. We start with an assessment and explain whether we can offer a recovery attempt before you decide.

Is the assessment fee deducted from an approved recovery quote?

Yes. If you approve the recovery quote, the data recovery assessment fee is deducted from the approved recovery cost.

What if repair is not possible but data recovery is?

We’ll explain the recovery option and any quote so you can decide whether to go ahead. Recovering files may still be possible even when we can’t return the device to everyday use.

How will recovered data be supplied?

We’ll agree how you receive your files. The available methods are secure cloud download, an encrypted USB drive or upload to cloud storage you provide.

Is data recovery guaranteed?

No. It depends on the damage, the condition of the storage and board, device security and whether stable access is possible. We’ll explain the options and risks after checking your device.

Does data recovery include repair warranty?

No. Recovery does not include a device repair warranty. The recovery service ends when we complete the agreed handover of your files.

Warranty

What happens after a completed repair.

What warranty do you provide?

Eligible completed repairs include 90-day cover for the specific fault repaired. It starts when tracking confirms delivery back to you. Your repair report explains the cover and how to make a claim.

How do I start a warranty claim?

Your repair report links to the warranty lookup page. Enter the warranty code and the email address used for the original booking.

Who pays warranty shipping?

For the first 30 days of active cover, Fixaviour supplies the warranty shipping labels at no charge. From day 31 to day 90, the current warranty postage charge is paid upfront and Fixaviour supplies the labels.

Does warranty cover new faults or damage?

Warranty covers the specific fault repaired. New damage, unrelated faults, liquid damage after return, impact damage or tampering may not be covered.

Does warranty apply to data recovery?

No. Warranty applies to completed device repairs for the specific fault repaired. Data recovery is an outcome-based recovery service and does not include a device repair warranty.

Devices and repair types

What Fixaviour is best suited for.

Which devices do you focus on?

Fixaviour currently accepts smartphones and tablets. iPhone and iPad board-level repair are core strengths, and supported Android phones and tablets can also be booked.

Do you repair Android phones as well as iPhones?

Yes. We assess supported smartphones from Samsung, Google, OnePlus, Xiaomi and other brands as well as Apple. If your model isn’t listed or you’re unsure whether we can help, email us before booking.

Can a dead phone be repaired?

Sometimes. A phone that won’t turn on may have a battery, charging, software or board fault. We’ll check the cause and give you a report and quote before you decide. If we can’t offer a repair, data recovery may still be possible.

Do you do simple screen and battery repairs?

We focus on difficult faults and data recovery. If you only need a routine screen or battery replacement, a local repair service may be suitable. If the cause is unclear or an earlier repair hasn’t helped, ask us about an assessment.

What are the main faults you handle?

Devices that won’t turn on or charge, black screens, overheating, liquid damage and difficult faults inside the device, including those previously described as unrepairable.

Trade and B2B
