UK MAIL-IN · DATA RECOVERY

Phone and tablet data recovery when the files matter most.

When the files matter more than the device, knowing your options can help. If you can’t reach your photos, messages or important files, we can assess whether recovery may be possible. Send your supported phone or tablet to our Tyneside lab from anywhere in the UK. We’ll explain the options, risks and cost before you decide on an attempt.

£35
Recovery assessment

The assessment includes standard UK tracked shipping both ways and written findings. It is non-refundable and is deducted from the recovery cost if you approve a recovery quote. See the assessment fee terms.

Recovering your files may not mean fixing the device.

A repair aims to return a device to use. Recovery aims to obtain the agreed data, which may involve work on the original board to restore enough function for access. A successful recovery does not mean the device is suitable for everyday use.

Choose Data recovery at the start of the booking form. Describe the files you need, any existing backup, and the damage or repairs the device has already had. If you are unsure whether your model is supported, check with support before booking.

When to consider a recovery assessment

  • A dead iPhone, iPad or supported smartphone with files that are not backed up.
  • A device that stopped working after liquid exposure or impact.
  • A device that keeps restarting or switching off before you can reach your files.
  • A device where full repair may be uneconomic, but access to the data is still valuable.

Do not erase or restore a device while deciding how to recover files that are not backed up. For liquid exposure, stop charging and avoid repeated attempts to power it on. Read the packing guide and contact support before posting a device with a damaged or swollen battery.

What we’ll check and explain

We assess the device condition, possible recovery route, access requirements and risks. Recoverability depends on more than the storage chip: board damage, device security, encryption and the ability to obtain stable access all matter. A complete backup or recovery of every file cannot be promised in advance.

We’ll explain whether recovery may be possible, what an attempt would involve and what it would cost. You can approve or decline the quote before we begin. If we can’t offer a recovery attempt, we’ll explain why in your assessment report.

Access and delivery of recovered data

If a passcode or other access information is needed, we request it through the secure access route. Do not put a passcode in an email, booking notes or the parcel. Our data handling policy explains how access information and customer data are handled.

Depending on the agreed route, recovered data can be supplied through secure cloud download, encrypted USB or upload to customer-provided cloud storage. Recovery ends with the agreed data handover and does not include a device repair warranty.

Already booked? track your recovery using your booking reference and email address. The data recovery FAQ answers common questions about assessment, approval and delivery.
