External power was masking the battery-path problem
A phone that runs from a charger but dies when it is removed may not be receiving usable battery power. On this handset, the relevant finding was damage on PP_VCC_BATT at the battery connection—not a conclusion drawn from the displayed percentage alone.
This was different from the other 1% iPhone 16 case
Fixaviour has documented another iPhone 16 with a missing battery-data clock line and repeated three-minute restarts. This phone instead had a damaged main battery-power connection. Similar customer-facing percentages can therefore lead to different board findings.
What the recorded repair shows
The connector was removed under magnification, its pads prepared and the replacement positioned and soldered before probe and boot checks. The footage documents the physical work while the technician's repair record supplies the PP_VCC_BATT diagnosis.
Useful details for an assessment
Tell us whether the percentage is fixed, whether the phone restarts on a timer and exactly what happens when the cable is removed. Previous battery, screen or connector work also belongs in the history.
