UK MAIL-IN · NO POWER · IPAD AIR 4

iPad Air 4 completely unresponsive?

A dark screen and no useful charging response can have several causes. We assess the power path on your iPad Air 4 before deciding whether a battery, connection or board repair is appropriate.

£35
Fixed diagnostic charge

The fixed £35 diagnostic covers the assessment described below and both-way UK tracked shipping. If you approve the repair quote, the fee is deducted from that quote. No repair work starts without your approval.

Check the generation before choosing a repair

The fourth-generation Air uses USB-C and a Touch ID top button. It is different from the older Lightning-equipped Air models and the later M-series Air range. Include whether it last worked on battery power, when it last charged and whether the screen or charging connector has been replaced.

Check your model: Air 4 model numbers include A2316, A2324, A2325 and A2072. The A-number on the back helps identify it when the screen will not turn on.

For the wider fault pattern, read the Dead iPad diagnosis. If the files matter more than returning the device to daily use, read about data recovery and select Data recovery when booking.

Details that help separate power and image faults

Tell us about:

  • No response after the battery ran flat
  • A sudden shutdown even though the battery appeared charged
  • Sounds or computer detection while the built-in display stays dark

What we check on your iPad Air 4.

  • Check the USB-C input and battery power path
  • Distinguish a display fault from a failure to start
  • Investigate abnormal loading and board shorts where measured behaviour supports it

We’ll explain what we find in writing and quote for the work we can offer. Your options depend on the device’s condition, our test results and the parts available.

A charger history is useful without assuming blame

Include the adapter and cable used, particularly if behaviour changed when either was replaced. A charging-system fault does not itself prove that an accessory caused it. We compare the device's response with suitable equipment and inspect its connections before drawing conclusions.

Charging-circuit work on a dead iPad Air 4

Our workshop sequence documents investigation of a charging-system short and component work on an Air 4 board. The case article shows actual footage frames from the circuit inspection and work area.

The reel does not establish that a particular charger caused the failure. Its edited sequence should not be treated as a complete diagnostic or long-term test record.

Read the repair case and its findings

Protect the device and the data while deciding.

  • Write down the last normal use and the order in which symptoms appeared
  • Avoid repeated charging if the iPad becomes unusually hot
  • Tell support about swelling or a lifted screen before arranging shipment

Testing determines the viable route

The assessment may identify a connection fault, a board fault or several damaged areas. Available parts and physical condition affect whether repair is worthwhile. The £35 fee covers the assessment and standard UK tracked shipping; further work needs approval.

iPad Air 4 no power FAQ

Does a dead Air 4 always have a charging IC fault?

No. The workshop example is one investigation. Battery, display, connections and other board faults also need consideration.

Can I book using the A-number instead of the generation?

Yes. Include the A-number and the symptoms in the existing booking form. Support can help if the model is uncertain.

Can the assessment prioritise my files?

Choose Data recovery if the files matter more than normal device use. Recovery still depends on board condition, device security and whether access can be restored.
